Astaghfirullaha Rabbi wa atubu ilayh
I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, and I turn to Him in repentance
Seeking forgiveness softens the heart and draws down provision and relief. Recited abundantly, especially after the prayers and in the small hours.

حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa Huwa, alayhi tawakkaltu, wa Huwa Rabbul-Arshil-Azim
Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity but Him. I place my trust in Him, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
Traditionally recited in the morning and evening as a reminder of trust and surrender

اللَّهُمَّ أَغْنِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَوَبِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
Allāhumma aghninī bi-ḥalālika ʿan ḥarāmik, wa bi-faḍlika ʿamman siwāk
O Allah, enrich me through what You have made lawful instead of what You have forbidden, and through Your bounty make me independent of everyone besides You.
For debt, lawful provision, and freedom from dependence upon others.

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ
Ya Hayy Ya Qayyum, bi-Rahmatika astaghith
O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I seek help through Your mercy.
A concise plea for help through Allah's mercy.

There is no power and no strength except through Allah.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
Bismi llahi ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi al-Aliyy al-Azim
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. There is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
This opening is transmitted as part of the prayer said when leaving home for travel. No fixed count is assigned.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa Āli Muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
Commanded in the Qur'an (33:56). Reciting ṣalawāt attracts divine mercy, elevates one's supplications, and strengthens love for the Prophet ﷺ and the Ahl al-Bayt (a).

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa'l-ḥayyu'l-qayyūm. Lā ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa lā nawm. Lahu mā fi's-samāwāti wa mā fi'l-arḍ…
Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth… His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
A shield against harm. Many recite it after each prayer and on lying down to sleep.
Source: Qur'an 2:255 — Recommended after every obligatory prayer and before sleep (taʿqībāt — Mafātīḥ al-Jinān). Imam Ali (a) called it the chief of the verses of the Qur'an.
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ ۖ هُوَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ الرَّحِيمُهُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ السَّلَامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَهُوَ اللَّهُ الْخَالِقُ الْبَارِئُ الْمُصَوِّرُ ۖ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Huwa'llāhu'lladhī lā ilāha illā huwa, ʿālimu'l-ghaybi wa'sh-shahādah, huwa'r-raḥmānu'r-raḥīm…
He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. He is Allah… the Sovereign, the Pure, the Source of Peace, the Granter of Security… To Him belong the most beautiful names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth glorifies Him, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Ḥasbunallāhu wa niʿma'l-wakīl
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
For anxiety, fear, and reliance (tawakkul). Recited when matters feel beyond your control.

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn
Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
Said at the moment of loss, hardship, or grief — and at any reminder of mortality — to return the heart to Allah.

رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Rabbi zidnī ʿilmā
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
A short, weighty supplication for the seeker of knowledge — at the start of study or the day.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُلَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُبِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Lā ilāha illā'llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu'l-mulku wa lahu'l-ḥamd, yuḥyī wa yumīt, wa huwa ḥayyun lā yamūt, biyadihi'l-khayr, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīr
There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is Living and never dies. In His hand is all good, and He is able to do all things.
One of the most emphasised after-prayer remembrances; narrated to bring great reward and protection through the day and night.

There is no god but Allah, the Sovereign, the Real, the Manifest Truth.
A daily litany for sustenance and inner security. Pair it with reliance on Allah, not with anxiety over rizq.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad, wa ʿajjil farajahum
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad, and hasten their relief.
Never rejected as a supplication. A beloved remembrance to open and close any duʿā and to fill spare moments of the day.

Yā Allāh, yā Raḥmān, yā Raḥīm; yā Muqalliba al-qulūb, thabbit qalbī ʿalā dīnik
O Allah, O All-Beneficent, O All-Merciful, O Turner of hearts, make my heart steadfast upon Your religion.
For constancy of faith in times of confusion, temptation, and change.

Mā shā'a'llāhu kān, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh
What Allah wills comes to pass; there is no power nor strength except through Allah.
For acceptance of the decree, gratitude over blessings, and warding off envy.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًوَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbanā ātinā fi'd-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fi'l-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ʿadhāba'n-nār
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
When you don't know what to ask for, ask with this — it encompasses every good.

أُعِيذُ نَفْسِي وَذُرِّيَّتِي وَأَهْلَ بَيْتِي وَمَالِيبِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِمِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
Uʿīdhu nafsī wa dhurriyyatī wa ahla baytī wa mālī bi-kalimāti Allāhi al-tāmmah, min kulli shayṭānin wa hāmmah, wa min kulli ʿaynin lāmmah
I place myself, my offspring, my household, and my property in the protection of Allah's complete words from every devil, harmful creature, and injurious eye.
The Imam taught this protection to be recited after the ʿIshāʾ prayer.

رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِالْقُرْآنِ كِتَابًاوَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ نَبِيًّا، وَبِعَلِيٍّ وَلِيًّاوَبِالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍوَمُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍوَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، وَالْحُجَّةِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ أَئِمَّةً
Raḍītu billāhi Rabban, wa bil-Islāmi dīnan, wa bil-Qurʾāni kitāban; wa bi-Muḥammadin nabiyyan, wa bi-ʿAliyyin waliyyan, wa bil-aʾimmati min dhurriyyatihim aʾimmah
I am pleased with Allah as Lord, Islam as religion, the Qur'an as Book, Muhammad as Prophet, ʿAlī as guardian, and the eleven Imams after him—including al-Ḥujjah ibn al-Ḥasan—as my Imams.
The Imāmī form explicitly joins faith in Allah, Islam, the Qur'an, the Prophet, wilāyah, and the Twelve Imams.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِوَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Bismillāhi alladhī lā yaḍurru maʿa ismihi shay’un fī al-arḍi wa lā fī al-samā’i wa Huwa al-Samīʿu al-ʿAlīm
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
A protection formula preserved within longer Imāmī supplications. No standalone fixed count is assigned here.

وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ
Wa ufawwiḍu amrī ilā Allāh, inna Allāha baṣīrun bil-ʿibād
And I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed, Allah is Seeing of His servants.
The words of the believer of Pharaoh's people — recited to hand one's affairs over to Allah in trust and find peace amid difficulty.

أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ
Amman yujību al-muḍṭarra idhā daʿāhu wa yakshifu al-sū’
Is He not the One who answers the distressed when he calls upon Him, and removes the harm?
Recited in moments of desperation and hardship, affirming that Allah alone answers the one in distress and lifts the harm.

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
Subḥāna Rabbiya al-ʿAẓīmi wa bi-ḥamdih
Glory to my Lord, the Magnificent, and praise be to Him.

بِاللَّهِ اعْتَصَمْتُ، وَبِاللَّهِ أَثِقُ، وَعَلَى اللَّهِ أَتَوَكَّلُ
Billāhi iʿtaṣamtu, wa billāhi athiqu, wa ʿalā Allāhi atawakkal
With Allah I seek protection; in Allah I trust; and upon Allah I rely.
A compact three-part act of seeking Allah's protection, affirming trust in Him, and relying upon Him.

Glory and praise be to Allah, the Magnificent. I seek Allah's forgiveness and ask Him from His bounty.
Joins glorification, gratitude, repentance, and a humble request for Allah's bounty.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ، وَلَا يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ غَيْرُهُ
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī yafʿalu mā yashāʾ, wa lā yafʿalu mā yashāʾu ghayruh
All praise belongs to Allah, who does whatever He wills; none besides Him can do whatever they will.
A brief praise that returns the heart to Allah's complete sovereignty.

سُبْحَانَكَ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي كُلَّهَا جَمِيعًافَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ كُلَّهَا جَمِيعًا إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Subḥānaka lā ilāha illā Ant; ighfir lī dhunūbī kullahā jamīʿan, fa-innahu lā yaghfiru al-dhunūba kullahā jamīʿan illā Ant
Glory be to You; there is no god but You. Forgive all my sins together, for none forgives all sins but You.
A direct repentance formula combining glorification, tawḥīd, and an unreserved plea for forgiveness.

Yā Rabba Muḥammadin wa Āli Muḥammad; ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa Āli Muḥammad, wa ʿajjil faraja Muḥammadin wa Āli Muḥammad
O Lord of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and hasten the relief of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
A Fajr salawāt joining devotion to Muhammad and his family with prayer for their promised relief.

فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَوَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَعَشِيًّا وَحِينَ تُظْهِرُونَ
Fa-subḥāna Allāhi ḥīna tumsūna wa ḥīna tuṣbiḥūn. Wa lahu al-ḥamdu fī al-samāwāti wa al-arḍi wa ʿashiyyan wa ḥīna tuẓhirūn
So glory be to Allah when you enter the evening and when you enter the morning. To Him belongs all praise in the heavens and the earth, in the late afternoon and when you enter midday.

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَاوَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Rabbanā lā tuzigh qulūbanā baʿda idh hadaytanā wa hab lanā min ladunka raḥmah; innaka Anta al-Wahhāb
Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us mercy from Yourself; surely You are the Bestower.
For times of doubt, change, temptation, or fear that the heart may drift from guidance.

رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
Rabbi innī limā anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqīr
My Lord, I am truly in need of whatever good You send down to me.
A humble prayer for every form of good—sustenance, shelter, work, companionship, and divine care.

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًاوَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَاوَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Rabbanā afrigh ʿalaynā ṣabran wa thabbit aqdāmanā wanṣurnā ʿalā al-qawmi al-kāfirīn
Our Lord, pour patience upon us, make our feet firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.
For overwhelming trials: ask not only to endure, but to remain firmly planted and act with courage.

أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Annī massaniya al-ḍurru wa Anta arḥamu al-rāḥimīn
Adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.
A prayer that names the pain without despair and places hope entirely in Allah's mercy.

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Rabbi ighfir warḥam wa Anta khayru al-rāḥimīn
My Lord, forgive and have mercy; You are the best of the merciful.
Short enough for frequent repetition, joining forgiveness with the mercy needed to begin again.

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَاوَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَالَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa in lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā lanakūnanna mina al-khāsirīn
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.
A model of repentance without excuses: acknowledge the wrong, then turn wholly toward forgiveness and mercy.
