Silah al-Rahim

Family Ties

The womb (rahim) shares its root with al-Rahman, the Most Merciful. To keep the ties of kinship is to partake in His mercy — and a cause of long life and expanded provision.

الرَّحِمُ شِجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ

“The womb (rahim) is derived from al-Rahman. Allah says: I will maintain ties with whoever maintains it, and I will sever ties with whoever severs it.”

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — al-Kāfī, vol. 2, Kitāb al-Īmān wa'l-Kufr, chapter on ṣilah al-raḥim; Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 71
